Mr Jonathan Palmer
After completing his pre-registration training in 1991 Jon worked in a number of acute medical specialities before in the late 90s settling into respiratory medicine as the senior charge nurse of the thoracic medicine, inpatient unit at Plymouth’s Derriford Hospital. He quickly developed a keen interest and expertise in non-invasive ventilation and since 2004 has been running the home ventilation service out of Plymouth. This service currently provides home ventilation to 450 patients across Devon and Cornwall. Jon has a specialist interest and expertise in managing chronic ventilatory failure in patients with neuromuscular disease including those who opt for tracheostomy ventilation or withdrawal of ventilation.
